First day of work at UOB Alexandra

The work itself turned out to be more confusing and tedious than I've expected.
When Esther (whom I found out just transferred from office today LOL) interviewed me, she briefed my job will be to sort emails, do filing, and handle the mailman (just helping to stamp and sign).

It turns out that email sorting is the most confusing part of the job, and I practically felt useless the whole day as I sat with their only other temp staff who tried to show me how to do it. My user account wasn't even ready (apparently the staff were all really busy today) and I can't even use my computer until the last half hour of the day, so all I did today was mostly retrieving documents related to those staff who are resigning, and sorting documents. And chopping and signing for the mailman who comes four times a day (Twice to collect, twice to give out mail).

I mean the email sorting is really...more complicated than I thought? Or maybe it's simply because I'm new and it's my first day but.
There's 5 main folders. Inbox (where we sort the stuff), CSA (Centralized System Admin. We sort the emails addressed to any of the ppl in our department here), HR (Resignation, renewal emails go here), Admin ID passwords (some sort of weird code emails go here), and Uplift (all emails with "uplift" word in the title goes here). It sounds simple enough, but the thing is the emails all look so complicated. We need to be able to differentiate which email to print, which email to ignore (mark as unread), which email that is simple enough for us to reply to, what kind of funny email goes to what kind of folder etc. It's actually really messy when you actually see it.

The thing is, my account was done so last minute (only at the end of the day) it doesn't even have access to the shared inbox with all those CSA etc. folders yet. Hopefully by next Monday it will be resolved.

Tomorrow I'm going to face the panel of interviewers who're going to look at my portfolio and academic background.
Will they also judge me for where I came from? Will they judge my final, low sem GPA too?
Tomorrow if they decided not to accept me, I'm completely fine with it. Genuinely.
This means that they think I'm not suitable for their program. Which is great, because then I won't have to suffer unnecessarily there.
If SIMge accepts me into their psychology course, then I'll accept their offer letter and join Yi Ning to study in the same course, in the same university.

Again, there will be people who will definitely look down on my choice.
And again, I will not care.

This year, 2016, will be the year I'll start learning not to be brought down by other people's snide remarks, and just be proud of my personal achievements that are so indifferent and insignificant that nobody will care.

Japan (Tokyo) Trip ~ Fifth Day // CAT CAFE + Karaoke + Matsumoto Kiyoshi

On the last day, we decided to chill and just relax in Ueno, since we realized that since day 1, we've been roaming around Tokyo out of Ueno, but never actually exploring Ueno itself, where our hotel is.

There's some pretty Sakura right in Ueno itself already, just like the Sakura we saw in Ueno Park right on the first night.

Our main activity today: cat cafe!

Finally spotted a pink sakura tree at the right.

This cat cafe has 21 cats?

HI CAT.

HI HI CAT.

 CATTTT.

CATTTTTTTTTTTTT IN THE BUS WINDOWWWWWWW

YUP IT'S THE NEKO ATSUME BUS.

CATSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.

CAT CAT.

SIBLINGS. They feel quite bony though.

This cat is so. Lazy. My sister kept disturbing and annoying it with that toy, digging it into its paws and body, and it's like "urgh meow, stop, leave me alone meow" (lifts paw lazily and pets down the toy). Laziest cat play I've ever seen.

HI CALICO MEOW.

CAT?

Sharpening its claws.

This cat is obviously happy to see me.

It's not actually playing. I just shoved it into its mouth and it didn't respond so I just took a picture like that LOL.

SO FLUFF.

This cat cafe directly overlooks Ueno station!

This cat has a tiny moustache spot at its nose area!

HI CALICO?

Derp cat.

By far the fluffiest cat I've seen there, that's just sleeping here.

They gave us treats to feed the cats!

Omgomgomg okay so this is what happened during feeding time.
So the day my sis and I went is Friday, which is Aprils Fool Day (spending 1st day of April in Japan c:). When they gave us the treats to feed, I fed the cats normally at first, one treat at a time (hence my left hand was up, which contained the rest of the treats so they won't eat them all). So after sometime, my right hand would've already smelt like the treats. So I started going around to other cats, holding out my right hand to them and let them start licking my hand greedily for the treat. But actually my hand is empty XDDD *laughing* So they would lick lick lick, and then "...god damn it, where's the treat, why do I keep licking the human's hand" and then they'd stop, look down and peer, and then when they realized, they'd look up at me and be like "MEOW HUMAN" XDDDDDDDDDDD and then I'd be like "BWAHA. HAPPY APRIL'S FOOL CAT :D" XD

There's this one desperate cat. It saw my right hand holding the treat, then it started using its paw and attempted to pull my arm towards it so it can eat it. Then I kept pulling away, and it kept pulling back, and it got so desperate its claws started coming out X'DDDD

Then this cat. It woke up and started bathing itself. I casually put my hand on its fur, and being the derp ,half awake cat, it just continued licking my hand XD Then it's like "...what. this is not my fur" *looks up and stares blankly* XDDDDD cat's tongue is quite prickly though.

GOODBYE CAT.

After spending 2-3 hours at the cafe and having enough disturbing the cats, we left to explore more of Ueno.

Ueno city.

This ramen bowl is really cool because it actually moves on its own. It reminded me of a very similar thing I've seen when I was a young kid in Genting, Malaysia.

Passed by this arcade, where we played Taiko again~

More Ueno.

Eventually we found another Karaoke place (accomplished our plan to sing Karaoke in Japan at least 2-3 times), and by the time we came out, it was dark because this time we spent 5 hours in there.

It's time for our long awaited Matsumoto Kiyoshi drugstore shopping! Actually my main objective there is to help my friends search for the skincare products.
This. Cheated. Both my and my friend's feelings.
The truth is, what you see here are all empty boxes, except that sample. We were supposed to redeem the actual product at the counter itself. However when my sister and I reached the counter, we discovered that they've actually all sold out already. ==

Well, at least I still managed to get one of each of their products.
This is the skin conditioner for Yi Ning.

And eye cream for Shu Ying.

We left the drugstore and hurried to the station to find dinner there (it was raining that night, and it was one of the coldest nights ever, the rain bringing down the temperature to 10 degrees. Originally we had planned to roam around the streets to search for dinner, but the rain changed our plans and we just headed to the station for shelter)

At the station, I bought more tokyo banana (original) for friends.

We ate at this authentic Japanese cuisine restaurant. It's the only place left without a queue outside its restaurant @_@

The tofu as appetiser (As usual), and some other side dish that my sister ordered.

Not croquette, but similar? Deep fried potato.

The dinner. I had no idea how to eat this first, and I just ate the Udon straight from the bowl with plain soup XD You're supposed to pour the sauces in the black bowl, dip the udon in the bowl and eat it. That was when I realized the Udon was really good.

Finished dinner and left. The sakura here is real by the way.

A tradition to stock up cup noodles in whatever country you are at the last night.
We actually bought a total of three baskets in the end. My sister said that this was nothing. The last time she was here alone, and had only one luggage, she just raided everything, clearing the whole shelf LOL.
